Summary:
The Maintenance Technician III under the direction of the lead or senior maintenance technician at Canyon Park is a skilled, diverse craftsperson responsible for performing and overseeing installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, testing, and associated documentation of a wide variety of manufacturing production equipment, lab equipment and process utilities. This technician will also provide maintenance and support to general building and utility systems including electrical infrastructure and life/safety systems.
This role has wide ranging responsibilities including low/medium voltage power, plumbing, HVAC system and controls, mechanical system troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, emergency response, general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing system and vendor management. Primary responsibilities will include electrical/mechanical support for boilers, chillers, pure water systems, compressed gas, lighting systems and controls, EMS, BMS and other facility subsystems and support tools. A very high percentage of "wrench time" is expected. Canyon Park is a cGMP research facility. All work must be completed while complying with cGMP regulations, when appropriate, and Seagen regulations.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Operates, logs, and maintains building and utility systems in accordance with standard Operating Procedures
- Work performed must be completed and documented/logged in accordance with written SOP's and GMP guidelines, when applicable
- Plans and schedules own activities with operations staff
- Develops, revises, and reviews equipment, maintenance, or other related procedures
- Works closely with Quality Assurance to develop maintenance SOPs and protocols to comply with regulatory requirements
- Maintain all documentation pertaining to maintenance and repair of equipment
- Serves as key staff related to the start-up of new equipment to ensure it meets all mechanical design specifications
- Maintains, interprets, and updates electrical schematics, P&IDs, panel/building drawings, and equipment/building O&M manuals
- May be required to work in clean rooms and restricted environments using specific procedures
- May perform general labor duties as needed
- Work will be primarily on second-shift, may be required to work outside of core business hours upon short notice
- May be required to work in awkward locations and lift items in excess of 50 pounds
- Participates in On-Call rotation for after-hours facility support
- Fully complies with all company health and safety procedures and practices
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an approved 2-year mechanical or trade curriculum at a technical school, or an AA/AS Degree in a related science or engineering major, plus a minimum of or closely related jobs with a proven performance record
- 3+ years combined education and experience in building maintenance, ideally in a regulated industry such as biotech, food production, healthcare, oil & gas, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at a GMP manufacturing plant in an FDA regulated environment (GMP)
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing utilities and process equipment
- Demonstrable knowledge in areas such as: pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic fundamentals, electrical systems, plant steam production, HVAC & refrigeration systems
- Demonstrable knowledge on pharmaceutical equipment such as Autoclaves, Chromatography Skids, CIP, SIP, Ultra Filtration Skids, etc. Preferred
- Experience compressed air and lab gas systems a plus
- Experience with waste treatment systems a plus, along with familiarity with plant water and steam chemical treatment
- Good technical writing skills

The hiring pay range for this position is $71,000 - $91,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
