Summary:
The successful candidate will work in the Analytical Sciences Department within Technical Development. The candidate will be expected to work in a highly collaborative, cross functional team environment. The primary role of the Lab Tech is to work with research associates and scientists to provide lab support. Key responsibilities will involve maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment, maintaining laboratory organization and supply of commonly used consumables and the preparation of buffers and reagents in addition to various other laboratory management tasks. Maintenance of an electronic laboratory notebook is required. The Lab Tech II will interact with other groups at Seagen, including Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving and Facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and calibration of lab equipment (pH meter, water baths)
- Maintenance of consumables ordering system; order materials as needed
- Scheduling activities with lab staff; lab bench assignments, shared space (cooler, freezer) management
- Preparation of mobile phase, buffers, and reagents
- In-lab liaison for external service personnel; work closely with internal GMP instrument group to maintain equipment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of college level chemistry and 1-2 years working in a laboratory environment preparing solutions, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment
- 2 years of college or technical school is preferred
- Excellent communications skills, attention to detail and proper documentation is vital
- Familiarity with analytical instruments (HPLC, spectrophotometer) is highly desirable
- Experience with Waters HPLC/UPLC instrumentation and software is a bonus
- Experience with electronic notebooks, MS Office and Smartsheet is also desired

The hiring pay range for this position is $54,000 - $70,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
