Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Global Medical Education, the Global Medical Education Associate Manager will be responsible for managing the operations of Global Independent Medical Education (G-IME) Grants and Sponsorships across multiple therapeutic areas and programs. They will be responsible for developing and managing global HQ operations working with Europe and external regional partners, as required. The Associate Manager will also assist in the development and execution of strategic Medical Education tactics and track overall progress (activity status, program evaluations, budget, metrics, etc.). In addition to managing G-IME operations, the Associate Manager will lead continuous improvement projects as assigned, which may include the following: operations associated with our grant management system, internal partners, metrics, data dissemination and reporting, as well as communications with our external provider and alliance partners as needed. The Associate Manager may also provide leadership support for one or more therapeutic areas via the Grant Review Committee (GRC).

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manages tactical activities related to educational grants and medical affairs sponsorships (i.e., intake, review, tracking, change of scope, reconciliation, close-out and reporting processes) recommending enhancements to processes.
  • With manager, continuously and proactively improves processes and establishes best practices for global IME and alliance partnership interactions (e.g., process flows, metrics, communications and reporting).
  • Manages expectations of internal stakeholders regarding what Global Medical Education can and cannot do based on solid understanding of company, regulatory and legal boundaries.
  • Works with the GRC to execute identified educational gaps, assessing educational design of proposed programs and making recommendations; auditing/monitoring approved grant programming for accuracy and adherence to the grant agreement and final proposal.
  • Represents Medical Education at Medical Affairs Strategic Team (MAST) meetings; and with guidance and direction from the G-IME lead, develops an educational strategy and budget for one or more therapeutic areas, monitoring progress towards identified goals.
  • Engages key stakeholders within Medical Affairs in review, monitoring/auditing of medical education activities and requests legal/compliance guidance as appropriate.
  • Manages communications with external medical education providers as needed and directs on operational issues to ensure receipt of timely deliverables Drives the design and implementation of internal reports to share metrics and impact of G-IME supported for therapeutic areas.
  • Tracks annual budgets and handles the grant management system, including development of templates, data migration, etc., and other projects/tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Analyzes final evaluation reports from grant recipients and, in partnership with G-IME leadership and grant review committee, shares results and insights to internal stakeholders and maps them to overarching programmatic medical education goals.
  • Maintains and builds upon various Medical Education projects including the Medical Education site and Monitoring initiative. Partners with necessary internal supporting functions, including other departments, to suggest improvements and new functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of medical and/or industry experience preferred; minimum 2-3 years project management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in a grant management system preferred. Medical Education experience a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor of Science preferred.
