The "Hutchinson Center" Part II




Facilities, including an auditorium, cafeteria, library and conference rooms, provide a focus of activity for the Center as well as the public. These common areas are served by a gallery, which is used as a reception area for scientific symposiums and fundraising events.

The interstitial space.



An interstitial design with a fully accessible, walk-through space is devoted to mechanical and electrical systems between each of the buildings' laboratory floors. It is anticipated that future laboratory renovations will be reduced by at least 50% of the cost to renovate a conventional laboratory.
