of Mexico. Many transportation options exist within the Grand Canyon State. Vehicles can use the
Interstate highway system, via I-8, I-10 and I-40 east to west, I-15 north to south, and I-17 and I-19
north to south, which actually are intrastate only. Arizona also contains many U.S. routes and state
routes throughout the state.
Major airports within Arizona include
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, serving over 3.3 million passengers
annually;
Tucson International Airport
with over 4.2 million passengers annually;
Scottsdale Airport;
Yuma International Airport; and
Williams
Gateway Airport in Mesa.
Rail service in Arizona is possible via Amtrak,
which offers the Southwest Chief route, connecting Los Angeles, California to Chicago, Illinois and
with stops in Winslow, Flagstaff, Williams Junction, and Kingman. Amtrak also offers the
Sunset Limited, with stops in Benson, Tucson, Maricopa, and Yuma.
